TED Talk on the Moral Decisions of Driverless Cars Opens Questions for Car Accident Injury Lawyers

Imagine you are in a driverless car and it cannot stop because of a malfunction and is heading towards a group of people at a cross walk. Though it cannot stop, it may swerve, striking only one bystander on the sidewalk. What should the car do and who gets to decide? If the wrong decision is made, who is responsible and who will compensate the people injured for their medical bills and pain and suffering? A recent TED Talk titled “What moral decisions should driverless cars make?”opens up  a whole new set of questions about personal responsibility in a driverless car world.
